Object iveWith the comparison of curative effect between regular acupuncture and regular acupuncture with warm needle moxibustion in ZuSanli (ST36) in curing non-wind-heat-type Peripheral Facial Paralysis in resting stage and convalescence, the passage means to discuss whether the latter treatment has better clinical effect.MethodsSixty cases of non-wind-heat-type Peripheral Facial Paralysis in resting stage and convalescence were chosen and divided randomly into two groups:R. A (short for regular acupuncture) group, which was including30cases and treated by regular acupuncture; And W. N. M (short for regular acupuncture adding warm needle moxibustion) group, it included30cases and treated by regular acupuncture adding warm needle moxibustion in ZuSanLi. All the cases were treated for4weeks,5times per week,2weeks per course. The evaluation of House-Brackmann and the score of FDI(including social score and functional score) were compared between two groups after every course of treatment and between different courses in the same group, in which the curative effect was observed. Meanwhile, every cases were evaluated on the curative effect after two-course treatment. After all the needed data was collected, it would be analyzed by SPSS19.0.Results①After each curative courses of treatment, the H-B evaluation and FDI score had statistical difference (P<0.05) while comparing with the evaluation and score without treatment. It showed that both regular acupuncture and regular acupuncture adding W. N. M had obvious curative effect on non-wind-heat-type Peripheral Facial Paralysis in resting stage and convalescence.②After the first course of treatment, W. N. M group had difference with R.A group in function score, but no difference in social score and H-B evaluation; After two courses treatment, two groups had difference in function score and H-B evaluation, but no difference in social score. The result showed that after the first course of treatment, regular acupuncture adding W. N. M had better curing effect in improving patients’facial function, while the curative effect in clinical sign and releasing their psychological burden was no significant different. After the second course, regular acupuncture adding N. W. M had better curing effect in improving patients’facial function and reducing clinical sign, while the releasing of psychological burden had no difference.③After two courses of treatment, W. N. M group’s clinical evaluation had statistical difference with the one from R. A group. It meant regular acupuncture adding W. N. M had higher curative rate than regular acupuncture.ConclusionBoth regular acupuncture and regular acupuncture adding W. N. M have definite curative effect on non-wind-heat-type Peripheral Facial Paralysis in resting stage and convalescence, and the latter therapy is more effective than the former one. Considering W.N.M has simply operation, easy drew materials, and no side effect, it is acceptable and valuable to apply in clinic.
