| Objective To genotype three locus (rs12506899, rs7688274, rs16849384) at α-fetoprotein (AFP) gene in Guangxi patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and to explore its association with serum AFP levels and clinical-pathological factors.Methods177cases of HCC were recruited from the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University and the Tumor Hospital of Guangxi Medical University from Mar2005to Mar2011. All patients recieved liver cancer resection. Extracted DNA form patients’ tumor tissue was subjected to genotyping by real time PCR (Taq-man) assay. Association between genotypes and serum AFP level and clinical-pathological factors were analyzed. Results There was no statistically significant association between AFP genotypes and AFP levels. AFP levels in HCC patients without cirrhosis were higher than those with cirrhosis (P=0.047). Patients with higher scoring of TP53staining in tumor tissues had worse survival than those with smaller scoring (p=010).Conclusion In this population, there was no siginificant association between AFP genotypes and serum AFP level and clinical-pathological factors. |
