| The plant Abelmoschus esculentusl (L.) Moench(commen name okra), belong to the family of Malvaceae, is an annual plants.The origin of the okra plant is Africa, it has a long history of cultivation, widely distributed in temperate and tropical regions. The okra plant which has been cultivated as a kind of medicine and food of plant resources all over the world, and Japan call it the"green ginseng".The fruit, seed, root and flower of Abelmoschus esculentusl (L.) Moench all can be used as the medication, and it can treat carbuncle furuncle and evil sores.As far as okras chemical composition, several studies have been reported in addition to the preparatory work of our laboratory. However, the data is limited in regard of the chemical composition of the system study. In order to understand its substance bases of its pharmacological effect, such as improving the body immunity, resisting fatigue, enhancing the expansion of the blood vessels, invigorating stomach, protecting liver, et al, the okra fruit ethyl acetate part and n-butanol part of the chemical composition is studied in this article.In this study,21compounds were isolated from the ethyl acetate part and n-butanol part of95%EtOH extraction of Abelmoschus esculentusl L.by silica gel, Sephadex LH-20, MCI,ODS,recrystallization, and so on. On the basis of measurement of physicochemical characters and spectral data, the structures of21compounds were identified as scopoletin(1),cleomiscosin A(2), cleomiscosin C(3), triacontanoic acid(4), phytol(5), glycerol-l-linoleate(6), trilinolein(7), ursolic acid(8), pt3rolactam(10),p-hydroxy-benzaldehyde(11),β-sitosterol(12),β-daucosterol(13), quercetin(14), mannitol(16),isoquercitrin(17), baimaside(18), uracil(19).Except compound12ã€13ã€14ã€17ã€19, the other twelve compounds are obtained from the plant for the first time. |
