AS a common diseases and frequently-occurring disease of neurology,in recent years the incidence of cerebrovascular disease was increasing year by year, and cerebral infarction is60%-80%of cerebrovascular disease.Cerebral infarction brings heavy burdens to both society and families because of its high morbidity, high mortality and high recurrence rate, which has aroused widespread concern. Then it is even more important to prevent its happening in the matters of risk factors while we are undertaking the effective therapies on cerebrovascular diseases.Atherosclerotic cerebral infarction is the most common type of cerebral infarction, and the most common cause of atherothrombotic cerebral infarction is atherosclerosis, prevention of atherosclerosis is an important issue which is needed to resolve urgently. At present It believed that atherosclerosis is the main cause of atherothrombotic cerebral infarction, as a chronic inflammation process. The inflammatory markers take part in the formation and development of atherosclerosis, and inflammatory markers play an important role in the procedure from its formation of the atherosclerotic plaque to its rupture for its loss of satbility, so circulating inflammatory markers raise more attention as indicators of cerebrovascular risk prediction.Lipoprotein-associated phospholipaseA2(Lp-PLA2) is a specific inflammation marker produced by inflammatory cells. Lp-PLA2is mainly combined with low density lipoprotein. Lp-PLA2can hydrolyze oxidized lecithin of LDL to proinflammatory markers-lysophosphatidylcholine and oxidized free fatty acids, which promote the formation of atherosclerosis. So inhibiting the activity of Lp-PLA2will probably receive the effect of anti-atherosclerosis.Pharmacological and clinical research of the Lp-PLA2inhibitor is underway, and will be a new therapeutic target of atherosclerosis.Studies have shown that Lp-PLA2can be used for the risk stratification of atherothrombotic cerebral infarction recent years.Lp-PLA2is correlated with the risks of atherothrombotic cerebral infarction recurrence. Lp-PLA2may be used as a risk predictor of cerebral infarction recurrence.Reducing the level of Lp-PLA2. is likely to be a therapeutic modality to prevent the cerebral infarction recurrence.By looking up the domestic and foreign literature, this article introduces the biological characteristics of Lp-PLA2and the the related experimental study of Lp-PLA2and ACI,and analyses their possible prevention mechanism and problems.
