In Vitro Antifungal Activity Of2%Ketoconazole Cream Compared With2%Sertaconazole Nitrate Cream And1%Bifonazole Cream

Objective：Via the experiments of2%Ketoconazole Cream2%Sertacona-zole Nitrate Cream and1%Bifonazole Cream to investigate the in vitroantifungal activity of imidazoles cream.Methods：The agar diffusion method was used to judge drug sensitivity.Fifty isolates of pathogenic fungus belonging to5species from clinic stainswere enrolled into the experiment. Organism suspension of each species wasspread on the surface of the plate of the optimal media containing2%agar.Then wells were made in the plate and three types of cream were put in eachwell respectively. After ten-day incubation, the radius of the inhibition zonearound the well full of each cream was observed and recorded.Results：The inhibition zone around the well full of three types of creamfor all experiment isolates (Dermatophytes, Candida spp.) was observed.Themean radius of inhibition zone of2%ketoconazole cream for all experimentisolates was13.72mm.The mean radius of inhibition zone of2%SertaconazoleNitrate Cream for all experiment isolates was12.35mm.The mean radius ofinhibition zone of1%Bifonazole Cream for all experiment isolates was6.94mm. There were significant signifi cances for mean radius of the inhibitionzone of2%ketoconazole cream compared with2%Sertaconazole NitrateCream and with1%Bifonazole cream.Conclusion： The antifungal activity of2%ketoconazole cream isstronger than2%Sertaconazole Nitrate Cream,and they are both stronger than1%Bifonazole Cream. For all dermatophytes experiment isolates the antifungalactivity of2%ketoconazole cream is stronger than that of2%SertaconazoleNitrate Cream and1%Bifonazole Cream,2%Sertaconazole Nitrate Cream is stronger than1%Bifonazole Cream. For all candida experiment isolates,therewere not significant significances for the antifungal activity of2%ketoco-nazole cream compared with2%Sertaconazole Nitrate Cream,but they are bothstronger than1%Bifonazole Cream.
