Objective To investigate the effect of using compound lidocain cream combined with lidocaine hydrochloride on the comfort degrees of adult male patients with indwelling urinary catheterization after general anesthesia. Methods Sixty adult male patients, aged18-60yr and weighing50-88kg, undergoing general anesthesia and surgical procedures which lasted less than4hours were randomly allocated into three groups consisting of20patients. All the patients received catheterization after the induction of anesthesia. The administration of catheterization was with the paraffin in control group, with the compound lidocain cream in study group A and with the combined use of compound lidocain cream and lidocaine hydrochloride lidocaine which infiltrated into the urethral mucosa. This study was designed according Single blind method, and all the patients had been informed to receive catheterization. The heart rate(HR)、mean arterial blood pressure(MAP)、visual analogue scale(VAS)、Ramsay sedation score and comfort level were recorded before operation、at the moment of extubation and one day after operation. Results The age、weigh、operation time、operation mode and the HR and MAP among three groups had no significant difference(P>0.05) before operations. There were some difference at the moment of extubation:(1) comparing with study group A and B, the HR and MAP in control group raised significantly (P<0.05);(2) comparing study group A with B, the rise of HR and MAP had no significant difference (P>0.05);(3) comparing with control group, the VAS of study group A and B decreased obviously(P<0.05);(4) comparing with study group A, the VAS of group B decreased;(5) the difference of sedation score between control group and study group was significant(P<0.05) and the sedation score of group B is better than group A;(6) comparing with study group A, the ratio of the uncomfortable caused by catheter in study group B decreased obviously(P<0.05).One day after operation, the HR、MAP、VAS and sedation score had no significant difference among three groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Combined use of compound lidocaine cream and lidocaine hydrochloride can significantly improve the comfort level of catheterization and reduces the incidence of emergency agitation for adult male patients in general anesthesia at the moment of extubation.
