Objective:To investigate the efficacy of renal artery stent, and reveal the prognosticfactors of renal artery stent. Material and methods: Retrospective analysis wasperformed in221cases with renal artery stenosis confirmed by angiography andreceived renal artery stent therapy. Correlations of the clinical characteristics and effectof renal artery stenting were analyzed. Results: The follow-up period was11-82months,and all-cause mortality was11%. Logistic regression analysis was performed inall-cause mortality and clinical characteristics, which shows that age OR=1.11(95%CI1.01-1.22P=0.031) and preoperative creatinine OR=1.007(95%CI1.00-1.013P=0.052) are the predictors of all cause mortality. Patients’ systolic blood pressurebefore treatment was (154±19) mmHg, and diastolic blood pressure was (84±11)mmHg. The systolic blood pressure decreased after24hours (132±12) mmHg, and sowith diastolic blood pressure (74±8) mmHg. Systolic blood pressure during follow-upwas (135±18) mmHg and diastolic blood pressure was (76±12) mmHg (all P value<0.01). The types of antihypertensive drugs before stent is3.4and reduced to1.8during the follow-up periods (P <0.01). Age OR=2.32(95%CI1.18-5.22P=0.018),diabetes OR=1.45(95%CI1.08-3.12P=0.032) and preoperative creatinine OR=7.1(95%CI1.82-18.03P=0.012) are the main predictors of renal function worsen.Conclusions: Treating with stent in patients with atherosclerotic renal artery stenosis issafe. Age and preoperative creatinine is main predictors of all-cause mortality after stent.Renal artery stenting significantly improved the control of renal arterial hypertension.Age, diabetes and preoperative creatinine are the main predictor of renal functiondeterioration after the stent.
