Objective:This study aimed at investigating on the impact factors such asclinicopathologic factors metastatic lymph node ratio and Ki-67expression forlymphangiogenesis in gastric cancer. And then study on prognosis of patients wouldbe investigated too. Methods:The expression of monoclonal antibody D2-40, Ki-67in primary lesion of103patients with gastric cancer was detected by immunohistochemical staining aswell as their cIinicopathologic profiles. The relationship of lymphangiogenesis, clinicopathological features and postoperative survival was analyzed statistically. Results:Monoclonal antibody D2-40positive staining localized in the cytoplasm orcell membrane could be applied as a special mark to lymphatic vessels. Lymphaticvessels around tumor by counting the number of lymph node dense could beidentified, then clear lymphatic vessel density (LVD) in order to reflect the situationof lymphangiogenesis would be easily applied. In103patients of this study, theaverage value of LVD is (17.68±7.35)/HP. LVD value was relate to venous invasion(P=0.037), depth of invasion (P=0.005), lymph node metastasis (P=0.001) andTNM stage (P=0.000). Lymphatic metastasis related to venous invasion, higherdepth of tumor invasion, later TNM stage, higher LVD value. LVD was also relate tothe metastatic lymph node ratio (rN) and Ki-67expression. Survival statisticalanalysis suggested that the survival rate of LVD values in patients with≥16/HP wassignificantly lower than that with≤15/HP (P=0.014).Conclusion:The application of D2-40antibody is a sensitive and specific detectionfor lymphatic vessel. Lymphangiogenesis was significantly associated with venousinvasion, depth of invasion, lymph node metastasis, TNM staging. The lymph nodemetastasis was positively correlated to higher Ki-67expression. Patients with higher LVD share a lower survival ib comparison with that with lower LVD.
