OBJECTIF: Recent evidences indicate Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori)may plays a role in Central Serous Chorioretinopathy (CSC). The authorsystematically investigated the association between H. pylori and CSC.METHOUDS: A meta-analysis of5published case-control studies, which examined the relation between H. pylori and CSC, was carried out.RESULTS: χ2=4.49, P=0.29, I2=20%, fixed effects model wasapplied to process data. The pooled OR of the association between H.pylori and CSC was2.15(95%CI,1.40~3.32), p=0.0005. The analyticalresult of sensitivity proved that the result of Meta-analysis was coherent. After omitting studies that contributed significantly to the heterogeneity, there is no great difference of the pooled OR. The publication bias has beenwell controlled.CONCLUSIONS: Individuals with H. pylori have an increased riskof developing CSC.
