Objective:The aim was to explore the role of self-efficacy and coping styles in the experience of resilience for women with gynecologic malignant tumors. Methods:A questionnaire survey was carried out in100women with gynecologic malignant tumors. Resilience was measured by Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC), self-efficacy by General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSES) and coping styles by Medical Coping Modes Questionnaire (MCMQ). The Statistic Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS version17.0) was used for analyses. Demographic variables were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Two-tailed Pearson correlations and one-way analyses of variance (ANOVAs) were used to examine the relationship between resilience and demographic and other factors. Predictors of resilience were evaluated using a hierarchical regression analysis, with order of entry of variables.Results:1. The mean soles of the total resilience was94.2±14.1, the coping model was44.0±5.8and the self-efficacy was27.8±5.7.2. There was no significant differences between different age group, religion, location, education, economic and the way of medical payment (total P>0.05).3.There was no significant differences among different tumors, however, there was significant differences between different treatments (P<0.01). The resilience was positively related to times of hospitalization (r=0.193, P<0.05). The severity of disease was not significantly related to the resilience (P>0.05).4. The avoidance coping style was positively related to the resilience (r=0.363, P <0.01) and the resignation was negatively related to the resilience (r=-0.364, P<0.01). The self-efficacy was positively related to the resilience (r=0.557, P<0.01).5. Hierarchical multiple regression analyses indicated that avoidance and resignation were the partial mediation of the relationship between resilience and the self-efficacy.Conclusions:1. The mean sole of the resilience in women with gynecologic malignant tumors was94.2±14.1.2. There were no significant differences between different age group, religion, location, education, economic and the way of medical payment.3. There were no significant differences among different tumors; there were significant differences between different treatments. The resilience was positively related to times of hospitalization. The severity of disease was not significantly related to the resilience.4. Factors, such as disease characters, coping styles and self-efficacy all predicted the resilience. Coping styles were the mediators of the self-efficacy and resilience.
