Objective:Analysis the incidence of hypercalcemia and calcium levels of309patients with lung cancer, this paper discusses the correlation of serum calcium levels and lung cancer. Methods:Retrospectively analyze the clinical data of309patients with lung cancer including112cases with skeleton metastases and197cases without bone metastases and200cases of out-patient were used as health control. They were divided into three groups:Group A:112cases of lung cancer with bone metastases;Group B:197cases of lung cancer without bone metastases;Group C:200cases of healthy persons.Venous blood was collected on an empty stomach from patients in the test and measured with ion selective electrode.Results:5ases have hypercalcemia of the309patients with lung cancer, the rate was1.62%.The incidence of hypercalcemia is2.68%in Group A and1.02%in Group B,but there was no significant difference of the rate between Group A and Group B(P>0.05).Group A serum calcium was an average of2.62+/-0.21mmol/L, Group B serum calcium was an average of2.60+/-0.25mmol/L,Group C serum calcium was an average of2.42+/-0.23mmol/L.There were significant differences in serum calcium between Group A and Group B(p<0.05).And compare serum calcium of Group B with Group C,we can see significant differences(p<0.05).Although the average of serum calcium of Group A was higher than Group B, serum calcium was not differ significantly between Group A and Group B.Conclusion:Compare serum calcium of lung cancer patients with normal control group, we can see significant differences. But there is no significant serum calcium level difference was found between the bone metastases group and without bone metastases group in lung cancer patients and.The incidence of tumor induced hypercalcemia is not high, but it is not rare. In this paper the incidence rates of hypercalcemia in lung cancer patients is1.62%and it shows no strong correlation between hypercalcemia and bone metastases. so for patients of lung cancer without bone also should be wary about hypercalcemia occurs.
