Objective: To investigate the influencing factors of restenosis in patients with symptomatic carotid artery stenosis after stenting. Methods:The clinical data of62patients with symptomatic carotid artery stenosis who had stenting were analyzed retrospectively. The restenosis rate after stenting was followed-up with CT angiography (CTA) or digital subtraction angiography (DSA).This study included49patients who underwent carotid artery stenting and had full clinical data. Patients were divided into a restenosis group(n=9) and a non-restenosis group(n=40). Factors including personal information, past history, preoperative laboratory results, postoperative medication information, stent information, and preoperative and postoperative target vessel stenosis etc of the two groups were analyzed. The influencing factors of "restenosis" were analyzed. Results:There were49stenosis in49patients, and49stents were placed in these patients. The mean follow-up time was (22.24±11.46) months. Thirty-eight patients were followed-up by CTA and eleven patients were followed-up by DSA, nine patients (9/49,18.36%) had restenosis more than50%. The mean stenosis rate of the carotid artery before the procedure was (80.59±10.57)%; and immediately after the procedure was (11.65±6.47)%.The restenosis group and the non-restenosis group have differences in the body mass index, amount of exercise, diabetes, the coronary artery stent placement history, the platelet count, the postoperative smoking history and the level of2hours postprandial blood glucose (P<0.05). Regression and correlation analysis showed that"restenosis" have correlation with diabetes (B=4.852, P<0.05).Conclusion:The restenosis group and the non-restenosis group have differences in the body mass index, amount of exercise, diabetes, the coronary artery stent placement history, the postoperative smoking history, the platelet count and the level of2hours postprandial blood glucose. The influencing factors of restenosis were diabetes.
