Objective:To investigate the diagnostic value of MRI BI-RADS for breast lesions.Methods:183patients with208pathology-confirmed breast lesions were examined byMRI.Four doctors divide into two group(ssenior and junior groups)assessed and classifiedmagnetic resonance images according to BI-RADS(categoryⅠ-Ⅴ),and compared withthe pathologic findings, and used receiver operating characteristic curve(ROC)and Kappato evaluate the diagnostic value of MRI BI-RADS.Results:The lesions included124cancers and84benign lesions. There was no statistical differences in BI-RADS categorybetween the two groups(2=5.667,P=0.225).AKappa value was0.842for overall finalassessment. The sensitivity, specificity, accuracy of two groups were as follows:95.2%,81%,88.1%,98.4%,92.9%,95.3%.The sensitivity and specificity of the ADCs formalignant lesions was91.1%and70.5%with a threshold of less than1.246mm2/s.Thesensitivity,specificity,accuracy of a combination of BI-RADS and ADC were as follow:97.6%、89.3%、93.1%.Conclusion:BI-RADS is useful in magnetic resonance imagingdiagnoses of brest lesion. The combination of BI-RADS and DWI could produce highdiagnostic accuracy in distinguishing malignant from benign breast lesions. BI-RADS hasits limitation,we propose that corresponded classification should be drawn according toevery application,s condition.
