Objective:To compare the effects and health economics indexes ofantidepressants monotherapy and combination therapy of atypical antipsychoticfor panic disorder so as to provide a theoretical basis for treatment of panicdisorder and reduce medical costs. Methods:Data of98inpatients with panic disorder in their first visitwere analyzed retrospectively. In98cases,43cases were treated withantidepressants monotherapy(monotherapy group) while55cases were treatedwith combination therapy of atypical antipsychotic(combination therapy group). All the cases were assessed by Hamilton anxiety scale(HAMA) and Hamiltonrating scale for depression(HAMD). The recovery rate, effective rate, total scoreof HAMA and it’s factors scores, total score of HAMD and it’s factors scores, days of hospitalization and hospitalization costs were compared between thetwo groups.Results:①The recovery rate was67%in monotherapy group while63.6%incombination therapy group, and the effective rate was97.7%in monotherapy group while98.2%in combination therapy group. There was no statisticaldifference between the two groups(P>0.05).②No significant differences were found in the total score, somatic anxietyand psychic anxiety of HAMA between the two groups(P>0.05).③There was statistical difference in the score of retardation factor betweenthe two groups at discharge(P<0.05),but no significant difference was found inthe total score, somatization and anxiety, weight, cognitive disturbance, sleep, hopelessness and general symptom of HAMD(P>0.05).④No significant difference was found in days of hospitalization betweenthe two groups(P>0.05), and the hospitalization costs of combination therapygroup was significantly higher than that of monotherapy group (P<0.05).Conclusion:There were no significant difference of the effects betweenantidepressants monotherapy and combination therapy of atypical antipsychoticfor panic disorder, and combination therapy of atypical antipsychotic can notdecrease the days of hospitalization but increase hospitalization costs.
