ObjectiveThe aim of this study is to analysis the predictive risk factors responsiblefor post-operative complications in patients undergoing Laparoscopic assistedcolorectal cancer surgery, Furthermore, this analysis has provided the necessarybasis for the prevention and minimization of post-operative complications.Methods123patients with colorectal cancer who received laparoscopic assistedsurgery as from July2008till May2011in the Department of Colorectal andAnal Surgery of The First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical Universitywere enrolled in this study.65male and58female patients aged from27to89with the mean of57.45±14.7. These cases were excluded the conditions of acuteintestinal obstruction, intra-abdominal spread, ASA(American Society ofAnesthesiologists)risk IV and V. Univariate(Chi-square test and log-likelihoodratio test)and Multivariate logistic regression analysis were performed usingSPSS16.0software for windows so as to find the relevant risk factors ofpost-operative complications.ResultIn addition to the six cases of conversion to open surgery. Case of post-operative complications of21cases occurred in117cases oflaparoscopic-assisted surgery(17.9%), incision complication in7cases,anastomotic leakage in5cases,Anastomotic bleeding in2cases, Intestinalobstruction in3cases, Infection in6cases(include Lung infection in3cases,Urinary tract infection in2cases, Pelvic infection in1cases). Two cases occursimultaneously two kinds of complications. Multivariate analysis showed thatAge(≥60years) Diabetes and Body Mass Index(BMI≥25kg/㎡)were the mainindependent risk factors which may affect the occurrence of post-operativecomplications.ConclusionIn the post operative complications of laparoscopic-assisted surgery forcolorectal cancer, the incidence of incision complication anastomotic leakage arethe highest, were6%and4.3%. Age(≥60y) Diabetes and Body MassIndex(BMI≥25kg/㎡) were found to be the independent risk factors ofcomplications for laparoscopic surgery in colorectal cancer.
