Objective To evaluate the protective effects of different doses of soup with angelica, astragalus, and pig’s trotters by different does and different intervention methods on leukopenia rats induced by cyclophosphamide(Cy) from the following three aspects such as the peripheral blood cell count, immunity and hematopoietic function. Further comparison of effects in three kind of soup such as soup with angelica, astragalus, and pig’s trotters, decoction of angelica and astragalus,pig’s trotters soup in order to provide a theoretical basis for better clinical application guide.Methods SD rats are randomly divided into8groups. Rats of the control group are given intraperitoneal administration of normal saline, and the others are given intraperitoneal administration of Cy for model building. In one week before model building,the prevention groups are given intragastric administration of medicated diet. One day after model building,the treatment groups are given intragastric administration of medicated diet. The control group and the model group are given intragastric administration of normal saline. In-7day, and the1day, the5th day,the15th day after model building, weigh rats and examinate peripheral blood cell count. In the end of the experiment, model rats are observed from following these indexes, such as quality of spleen andthymus, spleen index and thymus index, splenic nodules count,bone marrow DNA and pathology morphology of spleen,thymus and bone marrow.Results①Symptoms:Symptoms of every invention groups can relieve such as depression of spirit and decrease of activities, the descent of weight, the lack of shinning of fur.②Peripheral blood cell count:In the5th days after model building, WBC count of invention groups show significant difference compared to the control group (P<0.05),and the high-dose medicated diet groups are better than low-dose groups (P<0.05),and there is no statistical significance between the treatment groups and prevention groups (P>0.05). The effect of medicated diet is better than herb and food.③Bone marrow DNA content and splenic nodules count:Bone marrow DNA content and splenic nodules count of high-dose groups show significant difference compared to the control group,and the high-dose medicated diet groups are better than low-dose groups,and there is no statistical significance between the treatment groups and prevention groups.The effect of medicated diet is better than food and herb.④uality and index of spleen and thymus:All intervention groups can significantly increase quality and index of spleen and thymus to a certain extent.⑤Pathological morphology of spleen, thymus and bone marrow tissue:There is no obvious improvement in pathological morphology of spleen and thymus in all intervention groups. High-dose treatment group have better effect for pathological morphology of bone marrow tissue compared with other intervention groups.Conclusion Soup with angelica, astragalus, and pig’s trotters have better effect in WBC, splenic nodule count and bone marrow DNA content,and can increase quality of spleen and thymus,spleen and thymus index to a certain extent.The high-dose medicated diet groups are better than low-dose groups,and there is no statistical significance between the treatment groups and prevention groups. The effect of medicated diet is better than herb and food.
