M. Cordata has been used for the treatment of some skin diseases, hepatitis andtumor. Many constituents have been reported, such as alkaloids, triterpenoids andessential oil etc. To search the active part and active compounds used the insecticidaland antimicrobial activities of the M. Cordata as a guide.17compounds were isolatedfrom the PE, EtOAc, n-BuOH of the M. Cordata by column chromatography, including Silica gel, SpehadexLH-20, Toyopearl HW-40and semi-preparative HPLC.And8compounds were identified base on spectral data (IR, EI-MS,1H-NMR13C-NMR and2D-NMR), and confirmed by comparison with literature records. The8compounds were identified as β-Allocryptopine1,6-methoxy-dihydrochelerythrine2,bis[6-(5,6-dihydrochelerythrinyl)]ether3, dihydrochelirubine4, dihydrosanguinarine5,6-methoxy-dihydrosanguinarine6, β-Sitosterolm7, Stigmasterol8. Compound4was isolated from Maclaya R. Br. for the first time. Compound3and8was isolatedfrom M.corata for the first time. The PE, EtOAc, n-BuOH extracts of the M. Cordata were screened byinsecticidal and antimicrobial experiments. The results were as follows: When theextracts were100mg/mL, the corrected mortality of the EtOAc extract against2ndinstar larvae of Tenbrio motlitorlin(L.)reached80.95%after48h, and LC50was65.53mg/mL. The corrected mortality of the PE extracts against6th instar larvae of T.motlitorlin(L.)reached66.67%after48h, and LC50was86.69mg/mL. When theextracts were600μg/mL, the PE extract had strong inhibitory activity againstBacillus subtilis. The bacteriostatic circle reached8.4mm. And the BuOH extract hadstrong inhibitory activity against Escherichia coli and Botrytis cinerea. Thebacteriostatic circle reached7.6mm and7.8mm, respectively. And theColletotrichum gloeosporioides was not affected by the three kinds of the extracts. The results showed that there major active components were distributed in thepolarity range of PE.
