Objective: To investigate the effects of erdosteine preconditioningon myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury and myocardial apoptosis inrats.Methods:30male Sprague–Dawley rats were randomly dividedinto three groups:sham operation group(Ctrl),ischemia-reperfusiongroup(IR) and erdosteine preconditioning group(E+IR). The leftanterior descending coronary artery was ligated for30minutes andthen loosed for120minutes to establish the model of myocardialischemia-reperfusion injury in rat.The contents of maleic dialdehyde(MDA) in serum and myocardial, the activities of superoxidedismutase (SOD)、glutathione peroxidase (GSH-PX),catalase (CAT) inserum and myocardial, the activities of creatine kinase(CK)and lactatedehydrogenase(LDH)in serum were detected at reperfusion120minutes. TUNEL were used to detect the myocardial apoptosis index. Results: Erdosteine preconditioning significantly reduced thecontents of MDA in serum and myocardial (P<0.05), reduced theactivities of CK and LDH in serum (P<0.05,P<0.01),enhanced the activities of SOD,GSH-PX,CAT in serum and myocardial(P<0.05,P<0.01), reduced the myocardial apoptosis index(P<0.05).Conclusion: Erdosteine preconditioning has protective effects onmyocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury in rats, and has protectiveeffects on myocardial apoptosis that induced by oxygen free radical.
