Treatment Of Idiopathic Pulmonary Ibrosiswithdifferentdoses Of Glucocorticoids Combined With N-acetylcysteine

ObjectivesIdiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a kind of common types of idiopathic interstitialpneumonia (IIP),defined as chronic,progressive usual interstitial pneumonia(UIP) ofunknown cause.It is characterized by progressive worsening of dyspnea and lung functionand is associated with a poor prognosis. This study aimed to explore the new treatment ofidiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF),Comparing with intravenous injection of larger doses ofglucocorticoids(80mg/d)combined with N-acetylcysteine and smaller doses ofglucocorticoids(<80mg/d)combined with N-acetylcysteine.MethodsAccording to inclusion criteria in American Thoracic Society(ATS),EuropeanRespiratory Society(ERS), Japanese Respiratory Society(JRS) and Latin American ThoracicSociety (ALAT),35people were divided into the treatment group and the control group.20pelope in the treatment group were given methylprednisolone(>80mg/d)combined withacetylcysteine tablets.After three months,Observation on the two groups about PO2, PCO2, FVC%pred,FEV1%pred, VC%pred, TLC%pred, DLCO/VA%pred, Symptom score, HRCT changes andadverse reaction, whether these index are changed.Results:Before and after the treatment, the two groups PO2, PCO2, FVC%pred, FEV1%pred,VC%pred, TLC%pred, DLCO/VA%pred and Symptom score improved, and thesedifference were statistically significant(P<0.05),but HRCT changes was not statisticallysignificant(P>0.05).Compared with treatment after, the treatment group FVC%pred,VC%pred and DLCO/VA%pred improved more obviously, and the difference werestatistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions Compared with the smaller doses glucocorticoid combined with N-acetylcysteine，intravenous injection of larger doses glucocorticoid combined with N-acetylcysteine inidiopathic pulmonary fibrosis can improve FVC%pred，VC%pred and DLCO/VA%predmore, relieving general symptoms, and being no obvious side effects in the short term.
