Objective To observe the effects of nebulized nitric oxide donors onAcute respiratory distress syndrome in newborn piglets. Methods Thirtyanesthetized and mechanically ventilated piglets were randomly divided into fivegroups:①group A(n=6),control group;②groupB (n=6), receiving nebulizedsaline after ARDS;③group C (1mg/mL neb-SNP), receiving nebulized sodiumnitroprusside after ARDS;④groupD(5mg/mL neb-SNP), receiving nebulized sodiumnitroprusside after ARDS;⑤group D(10mg/mL neb-SNP),receiving nebulizedsodium nitroprusside after ARDS. Mean arterial pressure(MAP) and mean pulmonaryarterial pressure (MPAP) were monitored continuously. Arterial blood gas analysiswas determined at baseline, termination of nebulization and30,60,120minutes afternebulization1After nebulization, blood methemoglobin (MetHb) weremonitored.tumor necrosis factor(]TNF)-α, IL-10and IL-12concentration in serum at30minutes,60min and120min after aerosol inhalation were measured. Results ARDS resulted in a significant increasein MPAP, MPAP in group B, C,Dand E were significantly higher than that in group A (P<0.01).After nebulization,MPAP in group D and group E were significantly lower than that in group B(P<0.05). There was no significant difference in MAP between groups at the same timepoints (P>0.05). After nebulization, there were no significant differences inblood MetHb level between groups. No rebound pulmonary hypertension wasobserved after withdrawal of nebulization. Serum concentrations of TNF-α and IL-12in the neb-SNP treated group were more decreased than group B, and serum IL-10concentration was obviously increased in the neb-SNP group.Conclusionsneb-SNP nebulization could be used as selective pulmonary vasodilators foracute pulmonary hypertension1induced by acute respiratory distress syndrome innewborn piglets. Reduced lung injury induced ARDS through lowering and inhibiting expression of harmful inflammatory cytokines.Huangbin(pediatris)...
