| Objective To describe the total life quality of Esophageal Carcinoma patients beforeoperation, to analyze the influential facts on the life quality of Esophageal Carcinomapatients before operation, to individually analyze the relationships between the lifequality of Esophageal Carcinoma patients before operation and social support, medicalresponse, comfort status, providing reference for further synthetic intervention measuresand basis for building up the evidence based nursing care mode of perioperative lifequality.Methods This study belonging to cross-sectional study.Randomly selecting205casesEsophageal Carcinoma patients before operation who were hospitalization andSurgical treatment in6hospital of level A hospital in hefei from June1,2011toSeptember1,2011.The demographic and medical data were collected using the generalinformation investigation form QLQ--C30, OES--18,Social Support Questionnaire,Medical Coping Modes Questionnaire (MCMQ) and General Comfort Questionnaire(GCQ).All data were entered by EpiData3.1and analyzed by SPSS13．0softwarepackage．Results A total of205valid questionnaires were obtained,among them,165were men，45were women. Male to female was4.125to1. The patients ranged from43to83years old(average62.47±7.60years old).The patients whose professional were farmershas the highest percentage (124cases,60.5%), the majority of patients were still inwork(94cases,45.9%) among respondents.Family income of between500-memberedand1000-membered (53cases,25.9%) at most,and followed by family income of between1000-membered and1500-membered (48cases,23.4%).Most patients have aprimary school education and junior middle school education level, married patients arein the majority and living together. Most of them have good health of spouse. Medicalexpenses payment in New Rural Cooperative Medical are in the majority.Most patientsare not associated with other diseases, and can take care of themselves.The score of global health of Esophageal Carcinoma patients before operationwas66.67（83.33,33.33）. The highest score of functional scales was physicalfunctioning93.33（100.00,66.67）. Emotional functioning, social functioning and rolefunctioning was lower than physical functioning, median was all66.7.Dysphagia andfeeding problem whose median was0.00has the lowest score in the OES-18.Age, profession, family income, cultural degree, spouse health status will affectthe global health of Esophageal Carcinoma patients before operation in generaldemographic information (P <0.05).Overall social support in patients with Esophageal Carcinoma before operationwas positively correlated with the global health, physical functioning, role functioning,cognitive function, emotional functions(P <0.05). Objective support was positivelycorrelated with the global health, physical functioning, role functioning, cognitivefunction, emotional functions(P <0.05)Subjective support was positively correlated withthe global health, physical functioning,cognitive function,emotional functions, socialfunctioning (P <0.05).Support availability was positively correlated with physicalfunctioning, cognitive function(P <0.05).There was a significant relationship between coping style and QOL in EsophagealCarcinoma before operation patients. Confrontation coping Was positively correlatedwith global health, physical functioning, cognitive function, emotional functions, rolefunctioning,social functioning(P <0.05). Avoidance coping was positively correlatedwith role functioning,physical functioning，emotional functioning(P<0.05)． Acceptance-resignation coping was negatively correlated with physical functioning, emotional functioning, cognitive function, social functioning (P <0.05).Theresult of the General Comfort Questionnaire in Esophageal Carcinoma before operationpatients showed that the patients comfortable state belongs to a moderate comfort level.General Comfort Questionnaire was positively correlated with global health, socialfunctioning (P <0.05).Conclusions1.The physical functioning of Esophageal Carcinoma before operationpatients was better,while emotional functioning, social functioning, role functioning waspoor.2.The influenced factors of QOL of Esophageal Carcinoma before operationpatients were age, profession, family income, cultural degree, spouse health status,etc.The patients who were high age, low-income, low cultural level, Spouse’s poor healthstatus had low QOL.3. The global health of Esophageal Carcinoma before operationpatients was obvious positively correlated with overall social support, objective support,subjective support.So patients who had the better family social support function willhave the higher global health.4. Confrontation coping was positively correlated withglobal health. Patients who take the Confrontation coping will have better global healththan others.5. The patients of Esophageal Carcinoma before operation have a moderatecomfort level. General Comfort Questionnaire was positively correlated with globalhealth. Patients who had the better General Comfort Questionnaire will have betterglobal health and social functioning than others. |
