ObjectiveTo investigate the association between GJB2rs3751385and psoriasis susceptibility in south Chinese population and test Cx26levels in the plasma of psoriasis patients and controls.MethodsWith case-control assay, we investigated the polymorphisms of GJB2rs3751385in371psoriasis patients and330healthy controls in south Chinese population using a polymerase chain reaction restriction fragment length polymorphism assay (PCR-RFLP). The plasma levels of Cx26in55psoriasis patients and65normal controls were assayed by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.Result1. Genotype frequencies of GJB2rs3751385CC, CT and TT genotypes in patients group were21.56%,53.64%,24.80%respectively, while in controls were36.67%,44.85%,18.48%. Significant distinction was observed in genotype distribution of rs3751385polymorphism (p=4.99×10-5) between cases and controls. Case-Control assay indicated a significant decreased frequency of the GJB2rs3751385C allele in psoriasis patients compared with controls (p=6.02×10-5, Odds ratio [OR]=0.793,95%confidence interval (CI):0.706-0.889).2. The Cx26level was significantly decreased in the plasma of psoriasis patients compared with controls (p=1.96×10-5) and was negatively correlated with psoriasis area and severity index score (PASI)(r=-0.247, p=0.036).Conclusion1. GJB2gene polymorphisms rs3751385was associated with south Chinese population psoriasis susceptibility.2. Cx26plasma concentration of psoriasis was significantly lower than the controls, and was negatively associated with the clinical severity of psoriasis.
