Objectives:Study the acute toxicity and mutagenesis of3%matrine agent. Methods:According to "Pesticidal Listed Toxicological Test Methods"(GB15670-1995), acute test through the way of mouth, skin, inhalation, skin and eyes stimulate, skin allergy. The mutagenicity of3%matrine agent was tested by Ames test, Micronucleus assay, Mouse lymphoma cell line (L5178Y) TK gene mutation assay and human peripheral blood lymphocyte chromosome aberration test. Results:The LD50of3%Matrine agent through mouth toward male and female rat are both4640mg/kg; both percutaneous LD50>2000mg/kg; both inhalation LC50>2000mg/mJ; average score of skin irritation intensity is0.25; I.A.O.I is6; after fortyeight hours M.I.O.I is less than5; animal skin sensitization rate is0%. In Ames tests the number of revertant colonies of test sample group was no more than the twice of that in solvent control group, the test result represented negative. In mice marrow cell micronuclei test and mouse lymphoma cell line (L5178Y) TK gene mutation assay and human peripheral blood lymphocyte chromosome aberration test have no significant difference between test sample group and control group (P>0.05). It was found that all of the tests that mentioned above were negative. Conclusions:Toxicity of3%Matrine agent through the way of mouth, skin and inhalation is low; nonirritant toward skin, mild to moderate irritant toward eyes; low irritant toward skin,3%Matrine agent is a kind of low toxical pesticide.3%Matrine agent had no mutagenicity in this test.
