Objective: To investigate the factors that affect the efficacy ofhysteroscopic transcervical resection of adhesion in the treatment of abnormalmenstruation caused by intrauterine adhesions.Methods:112patients who had abnormal menstruation with intrauterineadhesions diagnosed by hysteroscope underwent transcervical resection ofadhesion in the Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University fromJanuary,2007to June,2011. After surgery, all patients were given hormonetherapy for3months,and then observe the restoration of the menstruationduring3months.The symptoms, endometrial thickness before the operation, etiology, the number of intrauterine operation, disease time, the shape of uterinecavity, the feature of endometrium, the degree of intrauterine adhesions, therestoration of uterine cavity, age and the endometrial thickness after hormonetherapy were analyzed. Then, the factors that affect the efficacy were analyzed. Results: Out of these112sufferers, mild IUA in41patients, moderate IUAin37patients,severe IUA in34patients.Every patient underwent just one timeof hysteroscopic exclusion.Postoperative follow-up3months,menstruationreturned to normal in47patients, menstruation had been improved in47patients,there were no differences after therapy in18patients.Effectivetreatment94(83.9%),ineffective treatment18(16.1%).These11parameters wereevaluated with univariate analysis respectively.Except etiology, the shape ofuterine cavity,other9parameters were the factors that affect the efficacy(P<0.05).Put these9parameters into Logistic regression analysis, just theendometrial thickness after hormone therapy went into regression equation asthe most important factor that affect the efficacy. Conclusions: Intrauterine operation is the main cause of intrauterineadhesions. The endometrial thickness after hormone therapy is the main factorthat affect the efficacy of hysteroscopic transcervical resection of adhesion inthe treatment of abnormal menstruation caused by intrauterine adhesions.
