| From the prospective of the importance of the quality of medical personnel, the tradition of medical education from home and abroad and modern international medical educational standard, we discussed the necessity and urgency of medical professional ethics education on the international medical students in China.Based on the study of the situation of professional ethics education at host universities of international medical students in China, in response to the fact of weak medical professional ethics education for international medical students, we thoroughly analyzed the cause of existing deviation of the positioning of cultivation objectives, the existing utilitarianism among their study motives, treating professional ethics education as equivalent of ideological and political education, the incompletion of curricular system construction and the weakness of professional ethics education to international medical students in China because of shortage of teachers etc.Meanwhile, we also summarized Tianjin Medical University’s attempt to develop effective professional ethics education, aiming for cultivating excellent medical personnel with high moral standard, and in response to the diversity of background, irregularity of cultural basis and activeness of thinking. We put forward the proposals of the combination of knowledge, action and affection, to strengthen positive education, self-education and the idea of " educators receive education first"; we also point out three basic concepts of professional ethics education on international medical students:professional ethics education is an important component of international medical education in China, pay attention to the integration of theory and practice, pay attention to cultural differences to seek moral consensus and absorb the essence of both Chinese and Western moral education; we also point out that professional ethics education should be in line with international standard, and combine with the development of modern medicine, integration of classroom lecturing and after-class education, integration of theoretical education and carrier construction, to realize the " four in one" educational mode of classroom teaching, situational education, campus culture and social practice. |
