Objective To observe the effect of acupuncture on the implantation and angiogenesis inuterus of rats with embryonic implantation dysfunction (EID).Methods The early pregnant rats were randomized into normal control group, modelgroup and acupuncture group. In model and acupuncture groups, EID was developed bymifepristone, and acupuncture group was treated with acupuncture additionally. The shapeof uterus, pregnancy rate, implantation sites, and microvessel density (MVD) werecompared, as well as mRNA and protein level of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF), VEGF receptor2(KDR), angiopoietin-1(Ang-1), angiopoietin-2(Ang-2),tyrosine kinase receptor-2(Tie-2) were compared. Results In model group, the pregnancy rate, implantation sites, MVD, expression ofVEGF, KDR, Ang-1were significantly lower than those in normal control group. Inacupuncture group, pregnancy rate, implantation sites, MVD, expression of VEGF, KDR,Ang-1were significantly increased compared with model group, while Ang-2or Tie-2wasnot changed in rats’ uterus of model and acupuncture group. Conclusions Acupuncture could promote embryo implantation in rats with EID. Themechanisms may be related to angiogenesis-regulation in uterus of rats by acupuncture.
