Objective:To investigate the impact of prophylactic oophorectomy on life quality of women during menopausal transitional and postmenopausal period.Methods:Total593women aged45year and older were recruited and devided into2groups, hysterectomy group, hysterectomy and prophylactic oophorectomy group. All participants fulfilled the surveys of social data, Self-Rating Depression scale (SDS) and Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS), the Modified Kupperman Index and Female Sexual Function of Index.Results:1. Totally720questionnaires were applied and593efficient questionnaires were obtained.69.27%of perimenopausal women reserved their ovaries while79.22%of postmenopausal women underwent prophylactic oophorectomy. The decisions were mostly based on the consideration of cancer worry and economic benefit. No menopausal symptoms were in consider. And no ovarian cancer after hysterectomy was observed.2. The mean score of kupperman indexes of hysterectomy and prophylactic oophorectomy group was18.70±1.015while15.27±0.934in hysterectomy group and the difference is of statistical significance (P=0.014).3. Incidence of depression of Hysterectomy and prophylactic oophorectomy group is higher than hysterectomy group(P=0.01).Though there was no statistically significant differeces (P=0.11), hysterectomy and prophylactic oophorectomy group had higher incidence of Anxiety than hysterectomy group(P=0.01).4. In the aspect of sexual function, the FSFI mean scores of hysterectomy group women was24.83±4.19, while21.22±5.34in hysterectomy and prophylactic oophorectomy group women, which had statistically significant differences.Conclusions:Hysterectomy and prophylactic oophorectomy had more negative impact on psychological health and sexual function compared with hysterectomy in perimenopausal and postmenopausal women.
