Objective:To observe the change of Cerebral Blood Flow in the patients suffering from dizziness, try to discuss the mechanism of the changes. Methods:There were306patients admitted in the retrospective study who were diagnosis of vertebrobasilar insufficiency, vertigo and dizziness in the first hospital of Jilin university during June2011and June2012. Do statistical analysis on the general clinical data of the patients, and compare with vascular stenosis and vertigo by univariate analysis.Results:306patients (50.3%males and49.35%females; mean age:59yrs) were included in the research. The yongest of them was30yrs,the oldest was87yrs,and the average age was59.There were15(4.90%) cases aged30~40,144cases aged40~59(47.06%) and147(48.04%) cases older than60.During the past years, there were135(44.12%)cases suffering from hypertension,47(15.36%)cases suffering from diabetes,43(14.05%) cases suffering from myocardial infarcion,34(11.11%) cases suffering from cervical spondylosis,31(10.13%) cases suffering from cerebral infarcrion,12(3.92%) cases suffering from syncope,7(2.29%) cases suffering from cancer,3(0.98%) cases suffering from otitis mesia or cerebral hemorrhage,1(0.33%) case suffering from migraine。 The patients suffering from dizziness could appear many other symptoms, such as vertigo, tinitus, headache, ataxia, and numbness. Among these patients, there were162(52.94%) cases appear vertigo,66(21.57%) cases appear tinitus,49(16.01%) cases appear headache,25(8.17%) cases appear ataxia and24(7.84%) cases appear numbness. The average of triglycerides, cholesterol, high density liporotein cholesterol, low density liporotein cholesterol and lipoprotein a were1.75mmol/L,4.58mmol/L,1.18mmol/L,2.86mmol/L and0.26mmol/L respectivrly. There were135(44.12%) cases suffering from hypertension,47(15.36%) cases suffering from diabetes,44(14.38%) cases suffering from perennial dizziness,43(14.05%) cases suffering from myocardial infarction,34(11.11%) cases suffering from cervical spondylosis, and31(10.13%) cases suffering from cerebral infarction. For the patients less than40yrs, the mean Peak Systolic Velocity(PSV) of anterior cerebral artery(ACA) was88.78cm/s and the mean pulsatility index(PI) was1.00, the mean PSV of middle cerebral artery(MCA)116.33cm/s and the mean PI0.85, the mean PSV of posterior cerebral artery(PCA)52.37cm/s and the mean PI1.00, the mean PSV of vertebral artery(VA)44.77cm/s and the mean PI0.87, the mean PSV of basal artery(BA)66.33cm/s and the mean PI1.00. For the patients older than40yrs and less than59yrs, the mean PSV of ACA was83.65cm/s and the mean PI was1.00, the mean PSV of MCA112.56cm/s and the mean PI0.90, the mean PSV of PCA54.42cm/s and the mean PI1.00, the mean PSV of VA49.54cm/s and the mean PI0.88, the mean PSV of BA66.95cm/s and the mean PI1.00. For the patients older than60yrs, the mean PSV of ACA was85.30cm/s and the mean PI was1.01, the mean PSV of MCA107.97cm/s and the mean PI1.02, the mean PSV of PCA56.50cm/s and the mean PI1.01, the mean PSV of VA48.44cm/s and the mean PI0.96, the mean PSV of BA66.63cm/s and the mean PI1.01. After T test and U test, the result show that the PSV of ACA and MCA increase faster significantly and the PSV of VA slower significantly for the patients suffering from dizziness aging less than40yrs, the PSV of MCA and BA increase faster significantly and the PSV of ACA, PCA and VA slower significantly for the patients aging less than59yrs and more than60yrs and the PSV of MCA, PCA and BA increase faster significantly and the PSV of ACA and VA slower significantly for the patients aging more than60yrs.Conclusions:The patients suffering from mental illness could appear the change of the intracranial blood Cerebral Blood Flow. The common expression of different age groups was the PSV of MCA increase faster significantly and VA slower significantly. Vertigo group do not have a higher incident of vascular stenosis than non-vertigo group. There was no significant difference between vertigo group and non-vertigo group on vascular abnormalities in the posterior circulation.
