Objective:Exploration of the influence of motor never defect on its accompanying sensorynever regeneration. In order to explore the difference of local microenviron-ment thatamong the different nerve fiber injuried.Methods:Twenty-four weight250-270g SPF Wistar rats, were randomly divided into twogroup(A and B,each group include twelve). In group A, L4,5,6nerve anterior rootwere cut off. In group B, L4,5,6spinal nerve root were exposed without damage.Allthe two groups right side sural nerve (ankle on1.5cm) were cut off, and repaired withperineurial suture. Acupuncture pain score and electrophysiological examination wereconducted to evaluate the sural nerve regeneration after the operation4,8,12weeks.After12weeks, make the same section of the sural nerve in the distal part ofanastomotic stoma into transverse sections of two groups; At the same time, madesural nerve including the injury site into longitudinal sections. All the sections weredealed with HE and silver nitrate staining,in order to observate the number ofregenerating nerve fibers and the rate of nerve fibers pass.Results:4weeks later of postoperative made Pain Assessment by acupuncture and to givea score, there was no significant difference in the results between two groups (P>0.05). After8,12weeks of operative, stimulus response of the rats recoveredremarkably in the two groups. There was significant difference of the PainAssessment score between the A and B two groups(P <0.05). To detect the distalsomatosensory evoked potential (SEP) of injury sural nerve after the operation4,8,12weeks respectively, there was significant difference in the results between the Aand B two groups (P <0.05). After12weeks, in group A the regenerated nerve fibersof the sural injury nerve distal was derangement, sparse, fewer, and with significantSchwann’s cells proliferation aroud; In the group B,the number of the regeneratednerve fibers was large, myelin sheath was thick and has regular morphology. The morphology was close to the normal nerve fibers and the shape was irregulararrangement. Conclusion and significance:Motor never defect inhibits its accompanying sensory nerve fibers regeneration.
