ObjectiveDelusion is one of the core symptoms of schizophrenia, not only have high incidence, and delusion lead to violent conflict, this may caused great harm for their family and society. But because of schizophrenia pathogenesis is complex, the neural mechanism of formation is not clear.Research on the history of delusion are mostly based on paranoid schizophrenia, this style schizophrenia with hallucination and delusion, so lead to the expansion of the scope of the study, the study could not rule out the possibility of auditory influence, therefore, increased the complexity of symptoms. Not only that, previous research mostly base on task state, in this kind of study, because of different experimental paradigms and task difficulty and subjects with the degree of difference, leading to inconsistent findings, lack of reproducibility. This paper to discusses the male paranoid schizophrenia patients with delusion symptoms at the resting state whether there is abnormal brain function and its area.MethodsUsing the Chinese classification of mental disorders and the diagnostic criteria of the Third Edition (CCMD-3) into the patient group of mainly delusion symptoms in male with paranoid schizophrenia. On respectively,20cases of delusion symptoms with male schizophrenia patients (patient group) and20cases of gender, age, and education matched normal controls (healthy group) for the fMRI scanning. Pretreatment of the fMRI data using statistical parametric mapping of spm8software, including realign can obtained from subjects with rotating mobile map, translation>2.5mm and rotational movement>2.5°ubjects were excluded. Analysis of regional homogeneity among brain regions under resting state on the preprocessed data. The ReHo difference between patient group and normal control group in the resting state brain functional activities, two groups of treatment of ReHo image based on voxel based on two-sample t test. Using the Alphasim correction for multiple comparisons, supposes contrast differences (P<0.05) voxel range (k)≥85with significant difference.ResultsCompared with the normal control group, patient group ReHo value were widespread reduction. The decreased ReHo is distributed over the bilateral superior frontal gyrus, the bilateral middle temporal gyrus, left middle frontal gyrus, left precuneus gyrus, left cerebellum, right cingulate gyrus, and increased ReHo value in the right superior temporal gyrus and left inferior temporal gyrus, however, in the left fusiform ReHo value both increased also have decreased.ConclusionsOur study showed that male schizophrenia patients With delusion may have abnormal functional areas of the brain are widely distributed in the resting state, and the ReHo method may be potentially helpful in understanding resting state of paranoid schizophrenia.
