The character of periodontitis is chronic infectious disease inducedby bacteria. Not only dose the highly morbidity bring difficulties to fixedor removal partial denture, but also affect systemic diseasesnegatively.Periodontitis has been in close association with many systemicdiseases, such as diabetes mellitus, respiratory diseases, cardiovasculardiseases, acute cerebral infarction, premature delivery and rheumatoidarthritis.Especially the interaction with diabetes mellitus of whichperiodontitis has been regarded as the sixth complication.Thedevelopment of periodontitis has great affection on glycemia control.Byusing routine clinical examination, including probing depth, attachmentloss and X-ray examination, clinician can’t assess periodontal infection onpatients’ body.Usually we divide periodontitis into quiesence andexacerbation, and during exacerbation there are much more periodontaltissues destructions resulted from dysbolism of bone and collagen. Is therea relationship between periodontal infectious degree of bodies and periodontitis activity of diabetics?Objective:1. Explore the spreading degree of periodontal infection in diabeticpatients,by detecting the serum Pg-IgG antibody titer of diabeticsand healthy subjects;2. Explore the relationship between the serum Pg-IgG antibody titerand activity of periodontitis in diabetics of different glycemiacontrol,by comparing Pg-IgG antibody titer and the serum levels ofIL-1β and PGE2of diabetics and healthy subjects.Method:1. Obtain the basic characteristics, medical and therapy history ofsubjects by questions and physical examination;2. Extract subjects’ venous bloods in the next morning, part of thebloods were sent for the HbA1c test, the remaining was separatedinto many0.5mlEps and stored at-80centigrade refrigerator after4centigrade centrifugation;3. Detect the serum Pg-IgG antibody titer by indirect ELISA,theantigen is the standard Porphyromonas gingivalis ATCC33277,and the antibody is the serum of subjects, the secondary antibody is HRPAffinipure Goat Anti-Human IgG.The porphyromonas gingivalisIgG titer was defined as the inverse value of the largest serialdilution;4. Detect the IL-1β and PGE2concentration in the serum of subjectswith the use of IL-1β and PGE2ELISA kit;5. Total experimental data was analyzed by the Statistical PackageSPSS20.0.Result:1. The serum Pg-IgG antibody titers were significantly higher than thosein control group;the titers of HbA1c>8%were higher than onesof HbA1c<8%;2. The serum IL-1β and PGE2levels significantly increased in thediabetes mellitus group than the control group;the levels of HbA1c>8%were higher than ones of HbA1c<8%;3. In analyses limited to diabetes mellitus group, there were positivecorrelation of serum Pg-IgG antibody titer with serum IL-1βand PGE2levels.Conclusion:1. Worse glycemia control could promote the spreading degree ofperiodontal infection;2. Worse glycemia control could promote the destruction of periodontalsupporting tissues;3. The serum Pg-IgG titer could be used for monitoring the periodontitisactivity of diabetics.
