Objective:To observe the influence of treating bronchial asthma combined withgastro-esophageal reflux with banxiaxiexin decoction on the patients’ TCMsyndrome score, Asthma control score (ACT), gastroesophageal refluxsymptom scores and pulmonary function,as well as the observation of clinicalefficacy thus provide basis for traditional Chinese Medicine to treat thedisease.Methods:64patients with asthma and GERD were randomly divided into treatmentgroup and control group. Based on conventional relieving asthma,anti-inflammatory and phlegm, the treatment group were treated withBanxiaxiexin decoction, and the control group were given Xiaoqinglongdecoction. Patients in each group are treated with1dose of traditional Chinesemedicine,2times a day. After4weeks and8weeks treatment, the two groupswere respectively observed about change in Asthma control score (ACT).They are required to hold expiratory volume in one second, reach peakexpiratory flow before and after treatment, then evaluate the changes ofpulmonary function of the patients. At the same time, the gastroesophagealreflux symptom score and TCM syndrome score is evaluated before and after the treatment, and then analyze the curative effect of gastroesophageal refluxdisease based on the comparison.Results1. The change of general TCM syndrome scoresAfter4weeks’s treatment, the patients in two groups total TCM syndromescore had decreased, compared with their symptom before treatment, thedifference has statistical significant (P<0.05). After8weeks’ treatment, thetwo groups’ TCM syndrome general score continues to decline, comparedwith their symptom before treatment, the difference was statisticallysignificant (P<0.05). Compared with the two groups, the treatment group wasimproved significantly than the control group, and the difference hasstatistically significant (P<0.05).2. Bronchial asthma control score:After4weeks’treatment, patient’ACT scores of each group were increased.After8weeks’ treatment, patient’ ACT scores of each group continue toincrease. Compared with their symptom before the treatment, the statistic hasgreat significance (P<0.05). After treatment, the difference had statisticallysignificant between the two groups (P<0.05).3. The improvements in lung function:After8weeks’ treatment, the two groups patients’ FEV1.0percentage ofpredicted value and PEF%were risen, which explains that the two groupshave improved lung function effect, compared with their symptom beforetreatment, the difference had statistically significant (P<0.05). After treatment, there was significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05).4. The score of Gastroesophageal reflux symptom:After4weeks’ treatment, the treatment group’s gastroesophageal refluxintegral decline, compared with their symptom before treatment, there wasstatistically significant difference (P <0.05), but no significant change in the control group integral compared with the symptom before treatment, thedifference had no statistically significant (P>0.05). After8weeks of treatment, the treatment group gastroesophageal reflux integral continues to decline, there was significant difference compared with the symptom before treatment(P<0.05). The integral of the control group had no significant changecompared with the symptom before treatment, the difference was notstatistically significant (P>0.05),but no significant change in the controlgroup integral compared with before treatment, the difference doesn’t haveany statistical significant (P>0.05).5.The efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine syndrome:After eight weeks’ treatment, the treatment group’ total effective rate is93.75%, while the control group is71.88%. Comparison of two groups’effect, the difference is statistically significant (P>0.05).ConclusionBanxiaxiexin decoction can not only improve gastroesophageal refluxsymptoms in the patient who suffers from bronchial asthma associated withgastroesophageal reflux, but also can reduce regurgitation stimulation.Itimproves patients’ pulmonary function, speeds up the control of asthma, thusimproves the quality of life.
