The Comparison Of Brachial-ankle Pulse Wave Velocity,Ankle-brachial Index And Carotid Intima-media Thickness For The Validity Of Diagnosticin In Atherosclerotic Disease

Objective:To explore the blood vascular structures function index with brachial-ankle pulsewave velocity(baPWV),ankle-brachial index （ABI） and carotid intima-mediathickness(CIMT)in the diagnostic validity of different Atherosclerotic disease.Methods：Select the crowd of physical examination572cases were measured with baPWV,ABI and CIMT from A medical center of the second affiliated hospital of ShanXimedical university during the period from May2011to july2012.The subject were243persons (50~65years old) who were selected as the final object of study,Accord-ing to the presence of arteriosclerosis disease roughly divided into two classes: I wasnon-arteriosclescletotic disease（n=60）; II layer included angina pectoris group（n=64）, hypertension group（n=57） and the diabetes mellitus group（n=62）.Results:1. The Comparison baPWV, ABI and CIMT among the four groups, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05), whereby, the mean of different arteriosclerosis disease group of baPWV, ABI and CIMT were significantly higher than those non-arteriosclescletotic group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).2. The correlation of arteriosclerosis with baPWV, ABI and CIMT of three diseasesgroups, whereby,The positively correlation were observed among the baPWV, CIMT measurement value and the arteriosclerosis all P<0.001), The negatively correlationwere observed between the ABI measurement value and the arteriosclerosis (P<0.001).However in CIMT,there was only a weak correlation relatively with baPWV andABI.3. The comparison the area under the ROC curve and the sensitivity of best boundarynumerical value Of baPWV，ABI and CIMT of three groups of diseases, This showsthat the baPWV,ABI significantly higher than CIMT.Conclusion：1.The comparison the mean of different arteriosclerosis disease group and non-arteri-osclescletotic group of baPWV, ABI and CIMT, and the difference was statisticallysignificant.2.The correlation the different disease group with baPWV, ABI and CIMT.However，in CIMT,there was only a weak correlation relatively with the three group.3.The area under the ROC curve and the sensitivity of boundary numerical value ofbaPWV,ABI of the level of sensitivity are all better than CIMT, in other words, twoindexs in the early diagnosis evaluating of atherosclerosis diseases were superior toCIMT.
