Objective:To observe the ache alleviated with pancreatic cancer after the treatment of HighIntensity Focused Ultrasound. To explore the possible mechanisms, and analyze the reasonsfor treatment failure. Methods:We choose60patients with Ⅲ or Ⅳ period of pancreatic cancer, record the VASand the count of PGE2,CGRP in the different periods of before and after HIFU treatment.Use the statistics method for different analytical.Observe the changes of the count ofanalgesic drugs delivery and imaging examinations before and after HIFU treatment, andthe presence of serious complications. Results:HIFU treatment compared with before treatment PGE2and CGRP reducedsignificantly (P <0.05). VAS reduced obviously after HIFU treatment(P<0.01). AfterHIFU treatment, the count of analgesic drugs delivery reduced(P<0.01),The color dopplerultrasound cardiogra showed that the intensity of tumor echo strengthened and the bloodsupply of carcinoma was reduced remarkably and even disappeared,CT showed that thedensity reduced and coagulative necrosis in the target region,Eight patients appearedblood amylase and lipase rise and then down to normal,Three patients appeared mild skindamage and no severe cases appear,no serious complications such as abnormal bloodfsugar, massive haemorrhage,astric-intestinal perforation were found in this study. Conclusions:After HIFU treatment, the patients with mid-late stage pancreatic cancer had lesspain, had their living quality improved,no major complications. The HIFU is a safe and effective method for the patients with pancreatic cancer pain.
