It have been widely used in traditional Tibetan medicines for antiphlogosis, tonifying Qi, strengthening the spleen and regulating the stomach.The twelve constituents were separated and purified with chromatographic methods and identified by spectroscopic methodology (NMR):α-spinasterol (1), β-amyrin acetate (2),1,3-linolein-2-olein (3), dibutyl phthalate (4), linoleic acid (5), luteolin (6), luteolin-7-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (7), caffeic acid (8), luteolin-7-O-β-D-gentibioside (9),3-O-caffeoylquinic acid (10), trans-syringin (11), lobetyolin (12). The compounds1,3,4,7,8,9,10,11and12were isolated from this plant for the first time.Zanthoxylum bungeanum Maxim. is a plant which belongs to the family of the Rutaceae family, and it grows in the area of Sichuan, Chongqing, Yunnan and Guizhou province. As Chinese traditional condiments, it is so popular that the spicy taste is the character of Zanthoxylum bungeanum. Now there are no common methods to classify the Zanthoxylum relaying on its pungency. The three natural tingling compounds have been separated and purified with chromatographic methods and HPLC.
