BackgroundsDecision-making has been given more and more attention for the universality in some fields. Feelings are common in the process of decision-making, and the anxiety is the most common influencing factor. Due to the research on the effects of anxiety on decisions with practice and theoretical significance, it has become one of the focuses in decision making.ObjectiveThe academy college students are the focus of military personnel training, they are going to bear the burden of national defense. In this study, we take the military college students as the research object, to explore the performance of individual with trait anxiety differences and some physiological responses of antecendents and consequences of decision making. The purpose is to further explore the influence of anxiety on decision-making and provided the theory and practice reference for the physiological mechanism of anxiety on decision-making. MethodsWe try to explore the role of trait anxiety on decision-making and physiological responses of antecendents and consequences of decision making by way of questionnaires and laboratory experiments. we take the military college students as the research object. For the low and high anxiety categories ,individuals were included that scored >1 standard deviation below or above the mean TA score, according to the questionnaire(14 men and 11 women in high trait anxiety, 10 men and 8 women in low trait anxiety) . Using the Iowa Gambling Task, to explore the effect of trait anxiety on decision-making. Compare some of physiological responses(EMG,SC,HR) before and after decision-making ,between high and low individuals of trait anxiety, and compute the correlation coefficient of performance of decision making and physiological responses.ResultsⅠ. The decision making scores between boys and girls are significantly different. Boys’decision scores is significant higher than girls’. Decision-making Performance of individuals with high trait anxiety is better than low trait anxiety.Ⅱ. Under resting state, boys’SC is higher than girls’significantly. Before and after decision making, SC of boys and girls presented striking difference. But no significant difference between EMG and SC. According to the whole trend change, high trait anxiety is higher than low trait anxiety.Ⅲ. Based on the results of correlate analyze, the baseline and expected value of HR presented a significant negative correlation. Before and after decision-making, the value of EMG had positive significance correlation, and SC is also. The physiological indexes and individual decision achievements related not significant. In the partial correlation analysis, there is significantly negative correlation between decision scores and trait anxiety scores.ConclusionⅠ. Performance of decision-making is affected by gender and trait anxiety, but the impact of gender is more significant. Compared with girls, boys are tend to adopt conservative in the decision-making.Ⅱ. Under resting state, individuals with strong physical reactions, whose physiological changes occurred significantly before and after decision-making. In the process of decision making, individual with strong biological predisposition is easier to produce strong emotional experience.Ⅲ. Individuals with high trait anxiety displayed stronger physiological responses than low trait anxiety individuals. It proved that the higher degree of trait anxiety , the more vulnerable to the influence of anxiety. Anxiety is not necessarily produce negative effect on decision making only, moderate anxiety is likely to promote and adjust the decision-making.
