A Study On Extraordinary Collocation Of Poem And Couplet In Dream Of Red Chamber

Ever since the book" Dream of Red Mansions" came out, it has attracted theworld’s attention for its unique artistic style and exquisite charm of language. What’smore, about two hundred poem connecting expressions in the book are best rememberedby the readers. However, the former studies on this book stay in the literary criticalperspective. The researches on the poem connecting expression also stay on the angle oftextual research and text interpretation. Few researchers explore its unique charm byusing the method of the noumenon of language and modern linguistic theory.As a new the noumenon of language arisen last century, the extraordinarycollocation theory provides us a shortcut in solving some traditional linguistic problemsfor its unique perspective. By using the method, we can solve many embarrassing thetraditional linguistic problems easily.This paper mainly talks about the extraordinary collocation problems, which isrelated to the207poem connecting expressions in the book. It includes rhyme, tonal,antithesis and part of grammar the extraordinary collocation. Many subjects areinvolved in this paper, such as the traditional philology, the phonology, the exegeticsand the rhetoric of modern linguistics. I try to study it from the angle of pure linguisticwith the method of extraordinary collocation so as to understand Cao Xueqin’s skillfullanguage proficiency and master the modern Chinese development situation.The paper is divided into five parts; the preface is mainly about the theoreticalbasis and meaning about the commencement report. Chapter one contains the researchhistory and present status on the language and poem connecting expression of the book“Dream of Red Mansions". In chapter two, I explained the connotation and the researchof the extraordinary collocation theory and analyzed the extraordinary collocationdistribution of the modern-style poems. In chapter three, aiming at nearly two hundredpoem connecting expressions of the book, I analyzed the distribution of theextraordinary collocation from the aspects of rhyme, tonal pattern, antithesis andgrammar. In chapter four, I mainly elaborated the creative reason of extraordinarycollocation in poem connecting expression of the book. In the conclusion part, I made abrief summary and pointed out the limitations and deficiency of my study.
