The family is the important form of social organization. Prichard to Nur Evans’sresearch to clan’s family is groundbreaking research. Lin Yaohua, Freedman etcstudied China’s coastal areas of Han clan with the functionalist theory model. Thefamily have obvious clan logo such as clan field, ancestral hall and clan regulationsafter it experienced some economic production status. So the development of the hasthe homogenous condition. Thus we should pay more attention to cultural diversity ingroups when we study different family of structure in the same region.At present, the “heterogeneity” study of family concentrates more on differentcountries, different culture, different national or ethnic. There is few study about thedifferent family in the same area. The study centering monority family internalcultural heterogeneity is less.Papers illustrate family heterogeneity which is widespread and obvious in thefamily in Hmong community groups based on the family study. The theoreticalapproach includes field work and consulting documents. The anthor has made severalresearch in the field. It applied history, politics and sociological etc. also. It analysesMiao family heterogeneous culture deeply by the participant observation and in-depthinterview in field work to perfect Miao culture research. It provides differentperspective for the family study also.There are137000words in the papers which include two part. The first part isintroduction and the second part is the main body part which is divided into4chapters.In the introduction it esplains the term system and the theory metod applied. Itmakes a review about the present study situationIt introduces nature and geography environment, social cultural environment,economic profile and Liu Village Miao branch in the field point in Chapter1.In the Chapter2, it introduces Hmong Family “heterogeneity” by the “ZuoSuo”ritual which can manifest Miao heterogeneity. It discusses Miao heterogeneity deeply by the introduction to the ancestors andfuneral which can reflect the Hmong community general characteristics in chapter3.It explains the collective memory and the family taboo culture in the Miao migrationprocess also in this chapter.It summarizes the the system differences of the Liu Village Miao family inchapter4. It analyzes social foundation of Miao family culture differences by theHmong community structure and the building of the kinship.It gives summary about the papers and viewpoint in the conclusion part.Papers have2contributions. Firstly, it coordinates the branch, national name, namesource, the main ritual, kinship rule of Liu Village Miao family and gives systematicMiao family research text. Secondly, it introduces the similarities and differences andthe scope of the basic concept of clan and family by the actual cases which putforward to a different way for the research of clan/family. Papers are the foundationfor the heterogeneity study in although there are some imperfections.
