Teaching Chinese as a second language is a new subject. And the quality oftextbooks plays a key role in it. The comparison of different textbooks has importantsignificance to the reform and innovation of teaching Chinese as a second language.This investigation contrasts Duiwai Hanyu Jiaoxue Yufa with Hanyu YufaJiaocheng referring to the Outline of Grammatical Items for Foreign Studentsof Chinese Majors in Colleges and Universities.Firstly, grammar systems of the two textbooks are overviewed. The grammarsystem of Duiwai Hanyu Jiaoxue Yufa basically follows the traditional structuralgrammar framework. Also it absorbs advancing Chinese grammar research, pays moreattention to the learners, and discriminates lots of near-synonyms. Hanyu YufaJiaocheng focuses on the grammatical items which students’error rate is higher. Andit includes temporal expressions which almost every grammar book ignores.Secondly, there is a comparison between Duiwai Hanyu Jiaoxue Yufa andHanyu Yufa Jiaocheng referring to the Outline of Grammatical Items forForeign Students of Chinese Majors in Colleges and Universities. These twotextbooks omit a considerable number of grammatical items compared with theOutline. Duiwai Hanyu Jiaoxue Yufa omits20grammatical items, and Hanyu YufaJiaocheng omits21grammatical items. These omitted grammatical items presentgreat similarity. They are mainly concentrated in particular-sentences and the fixed- formats.As supplement and perfection, these two textbooks should focus on theparticular-sentences and fixed-formats.Lastly, put forward suggestions in Textbook Compiling. |
