Even though In my hometown Samarkand region of Uzbekistan Chinese has become an important second language,Chinese teaching materials still lag behind.In terms of Chinese teaching materials,Uzbekistan Samarkand region currently faces the following issues :Firstly,there is almost no local teaching materials,and the available materials that students can use are in limited quantity,making them difficult to obtain.Secondly,the currently available Chinese textbooks are mostly translated in Russian and are and in English.most of those textbooks are from China and they rarely use the Uzbek language.For the few books that are translated in Uzbek,their translation is sometimes inaccurate,thus affecting the local students ability to learn the Chinese language.At present,the most commonly used teaching material in Uzbekistan is "Hanyu jiaocheng".In order to understand the problems in the use of Chinese teaching material in the Samarkand region of Uzbekistan,this paper firstly introduces the teaching material "Hanyu jiaocheng" from the four aspects namely reading text,vocabulary,grammar and excercises,then conduct a questionnaire survey and interviews about this teaching material with teachers and students of Samarkand Foreign Language Institute.In the end,the author sums up the both the shortcomings and the positive points existing in “Hanyu jiaocheng" teaching material,in order to provide local book editors with valuable suggestions.
