Through careful reading of Wayne Wang’s work, the thesis attempt to explore himin cross-cultural context of identity consciousness and cultural identity. So the thesis usethe way of comparing to discuss Wayne Wang’s film. In part is introduced Wayne Wang’sfilm research background, analyses the current research status and academic evaluation,points out that the research significance. The chapter one is about to analysis WayneWang’s work, and reveals collision eastern and western culture and unique contributionsunder Wayne Wang’s work. The chapter two make Wayne Wang’s work on thebackground of Chinese figure history on American screen, clarify the East side and thewestern in Wayne Wang’s work two culture subject, thus comb a Wayne Wang’s filmfrom across beyond the change of the process. The chapter three basically from the pointof view of movie narrative analysis Wayne Wang’s film narrative time and narrativespace, and his film in the space and time the selection and arrangement narrative has andHollywood movies of the common mold characteristics. Through to the Wayne Wangfilm “double time and space” paper, and then dig out the Wayne Wang’s film and evenHollywood movies to China in a narrative consistent ideological writing. Epilogue partwill reveals the characteristics of the film, and its enlightenment and special significanceto the cultural exchange.
