Frequency is considered an effective way to improve every skill and learning, especially in learning language. Famous linguist Ellis points out that frequency is the decisivefactor of language learning, and language proficiency doesn’t rely on abstract grammar rules, but is based on the large quantities of language samples which memory in the brain. Famouslinguist Gass thinks that repetitive tasks which equal to frequency can help learners to switchattention, attention resources transfer from meaning to language form, this change has thebenefit on language learning and finally gets success. Task frequency has a positive effect onattention resources and it can promote the attention from the content to the form of languageand achieve the perfect unity of content and form of the language. Finally we can achieve theultimate goal of learning language. Therefore, many scholars have done a lot of researches about frequency and attention. In the domestic and foreign researches, many researches refer to writing, speaking andlistening, but grammar learning has comparatively fewer researches. Grammar is the basisand foundation in learning language and it is the foundation of the language structure, so thisstudy focuses on the frequency effects on grammar learning and change of attention.According to the pre-test and post-test in experimental group and control group, among theinterval of the two tests, the teacher adopts different methods to teach two different groups. Inexperimental group, the researcher gives six times exercises to learn points of grammar byfrequency instead of mentioning systematic rules of grammar. On the contrary, in controlgroup, the teacher teaches two times systematic rules of grammar. The different times of repetition reflect frequency. This study wants to verify in grammar learning process whichwithout teaching the boring grammar rules, but using of task frequency to achieve thepurpose of learning grammar. At the same time, on the frequency effects, students’ attentionresources in the content and the form have a balanced development, on the effect offrequency; students may form their own language constitutive models in attention resources. The result of this study reveals that frequency has an active role on attention resources anddistribution, attention develops balanced in both meaning and structure in language learningand finally we can acquire the language and reach our goal.
