The Images Of Animals In The Beijing Novelistic School

In the Chinese Modern Literature, It is worth to pay attention on constructing the images of animals.The Beijing novelists such as Fei Ming、Shi Tuo and Ling Shuhua described familiar Animal groups in our life with the most simple words besides Shen Congwen. Comparing with grotesque in shape and gaudy in color of Shanghai novelists writing characteristics,the Beijing novelists mainly described gently. The special creative thinking and emotional experience brought the description of animal into being a distinctive image system.This paper takes the images of animals in Beijing novel as my object of study, Combines with the concept of creation and artistic style of Beijing novel, classifies the images of animals in Beijing novel and digs the special meaning of the images of animals to clarify the relationship between animal image and the cultural character of the Beijing novelists.In the novel of the Beijing novelists, symbolic meaning of animals were very abundant,and the dog which had to be a symbol of happy life appeared in Shen Congwen and Lin Huiyin’s novel as human closest friend.Shi Tuo was good at building environmental atmosphere,and in his novel,the existence of animals always could push the special environmental atmosphere to climax,so it became the booster of building environmental atmosphere.Ling Shuhua wrote the images of animals which were about love such as the phoenix and bird,which expressed teenager girls’infinite vision and fantasy.As a writer of the Miao nationality,Shen Congwen was impressed by the national culture,so he often wrote animals which related to the traditional culture of Miao nationality in his novel,which reflected that Shen Congwen had inherited and promoted the traditional culture of Miao nationality.It is absolutely not accidental that images of animals appear in Beijing novelists’novels.The Childhood Memories of Beijing novelists related to their country life,and animals were the most important partners.when they were in the city,they were still sentimentally attached to the happy life in their hometown deep in their heart.So they retrospected their hometown and criticize the reality through writing,and images of animals bore the weight of different emotions about their hometown and the city. Meanwhile, Beijing writers mainly inherited the noble and pure cultural character of the literature in Weijin Dynasty,and they were good at reflecting life and expressing their emotions in a way of insipid description,so daily animal images constituted the most important element of insipid description.
