The Study On The Relationship For The Wives And The Concubines In The Song Dynasty

The Song Dynasty is an important stage in the Chinese history, the society presented multi-dimension changes on the background of Tang-Song Great Revolution, and the range of women-living space shrinked from the outer to the inner. Therefore, the fact of the reduction of the living space limited the women’s life in the family, and the relationship between them unfolded an important way to know the real life for the women in the Song Dynasty. Meanwhile, in the Men’s Rights Era, the most complicated relation was between the wives and the concubines. On one hand, the description of the relation could reflect the reality of their lives, and on the other hand, this could be the most important motivation to discuss the promotion of the women’s status in the Song Dynasty. Because of this, the text would amplify the relation between the wives and the concubines which includes:The exordium is the review of the research result in the academic circles recently, which is based on the abundant research result in the family history and the marriage history, but lacked the discussion on the relations. So, it’s necessary to arrange the academic research on the purpose of positioning this paper and descriping the significance of the text.The first chapter is emphasized the types of the relation between the wives and the concubines in the family. That is because, it is necessary to describe the daily life and the proportion before analyzing the relation between the wives and the concubines theoretically. In this chapter, it would begin with the relation between the husbands and wives, the relation between the wives and the concubines, and the relation between the concunbines and the servant women, which are thought to be the basic points to analysize the cause of the relation between the wives and the concubines. The second chapter is emphasized the cause of the relation between the wives and the concubines in the family. In the traditional society, the origin family influenced their relations in some extent, on the purpose of analysizing this problem deeply and understanding the inner cause of their relations, it’s so necessary to decsribe the influence for the family relations from the wives’origin family, the influence for the family relations from the concubines’origin family, and the simple analysis on their status grades.The third chapter is analyzing the effect from the external environment on the relation between the wives and the concubines.The previous paper focused on the conditions of the wives and the concubines, and this chapter is emphasized the function of rules of etiquette to locate the relation between the wives and the concubines as the comprehensive analysis that is covering all aspects.The fourth chapter is describing the relation between the wives and the concubines from the female ghost stories and the folk tales,that’s because, in the traditional society, the official history was guiding a peaceful relation between the women instead of dodging the reality of the relation between them. But the truth was different, so, in this chapter,the author would describe the real conditions from the female ghost stories, folk tales to tell the true relation between them which is thought the most important part in this chapter.The last chapter is the comprehensive result about the research of this text which includes,the reality of the relation that was influenced by the inner and outer conditions;the identification from the wives and the concubines cured their status in the relation; the discussion of the relation for the women in the family reflected their status decreased in the Song Dynasty.
