It has often been seen that the queen and royal concubines interfered in politics in many dynasties. Among them, some were very virtuous and talented, making contributions for the steady transisition of power and for the social tranquility. By contrast, some who harboured political ambitions wrerked the country just for the selfish motives. From the general review of the Chinese history, in general, the advantages of such an inference overweigh the disadvantages. Since there were 9 queen and royal concubines held court up to 10 times in Song Dynasty, but they did not sway the reigning status of this dynasty, which was quite rare in Chinese history and needed to study.The queen and royal concubines in Song Dynasty who held court were Queen Liu of Zhenzong, Queen Cao of Renzong, Queen Gao of Yingzong, Queen Xiang of Shenzong, Queen Meng of Zhezong, Queen Wu of Gaozong, Queen Yang of Ningzong, Queen Xie of Lizong, Queen Yang of Duzong. Some assisted new emperors, some took orders in danger and others came out boldly in the afterclap. But all of them took vindicating the power as their bounder duty and made contributions for the steady of Song Dynasty.There are some reasons such as: strict feudal rules, the supenvision of scholar-officials, the guarding against royal relatives, and self-binding of the queen and royal concubines. At the same time, the queen in Song Dynasty also had vivid historic trait because of their historical particularity.
