The opera, originating in Europe four hundred years ago, is a comprehensive art of performance on the stage which involves the literature, music, art and dance. After the constant exploration and creation of several artists for generations, the Chinese national opera which incorporates the elements from the original opera and the traditional drama have come into being since it has been introduced in 1920s.Developing from the movie to the national opera, The Daughter of the Party has made the tremendous success on the first public performance in 1991. As the Party member, the ordinary but extraordinary image of the heroine Tian Yumei is portrayed in terms of the soprano aria, antiphonal singings and the trioCombining the personal singing experience, the thesis appears to make the comparatively study on the creation of the musical image of Yumei by analyzing the classic aria of the heroine. Beginning with the concept of the musical image, the thesis is likely to present how the musical image in The Daughter of the Party is portrayed in terms of the analysis of the musical characteristics of the opera, the main aria of Yumei and the interpretation of three performers, and conveying the significance of The Daughter of the Party in the history of Chinese national opera and reflecting the development of Chinese national opera.
