| The sound pattern theory and method provided a new way to study the pronunciation acquisition of the second foreign language. The article adopted the theory and methods of vowel pattern, combined the voice sample collection, phonetic data collation, acoustic parameter extraction and acoustic vowel diagram and other scientific means to compare and analyze the German and Chinese vowel pattern, which were used as second language vowels. And it tried to provide a method to validate the Critical Period Hypothesis(CPH). The first chapter introduced the significance of this study, the trend of the phonetic experiment, as well as stressed the need for studies about teaching students who came from a certain country to learn a foreign language efficiently. And it described the theory of this paper, the research background, and brings up the main theory and method, which was the vowel pattern and the ways to contrastiving analyze vowels based on it. The second chapter described the basic situation of the German vowel, and summarized it. The second chapter described the basic situation of the German vowel, and summarized it. Furthermore, it conferred the symbol of the German vowels by using contrastive analyzing methods of vowel pattern. Besides it, we described the similar German vowels and analyzed not only the system of the German vowel pattern but also the distribution area of every vowel. The third chapter applied the vowel pattern theory and methods to phonetic comparative study. There were two sections in this chapter: the first section was the analysis of the Chinese vowel pattern which pronounced by Germany; the second section was the analysis of the German vowel pattern which pronounced by Chinese. The forth chapter is also a practical application of the vowel pattern, which applied the theory and methods to verify the CPH. And we conclude that there indeed exists some influence by the factor of age on the vowel acquisition of the second foreign language. The fifth chapter was the conclusion of this paper. For native Chinese students we provided some approaches to learn German effectively, based on German vowel pattern and contractive analysis of Chinese-German vowel pattern. We advised them to learn German in 3 steps. For teaching native German students to learn Chinese vowel, we provided some advice due to contractive analysis of Chinese-German vowel pattern. Specifically we classified the Chinese vowels into "extremely similar vowels, similar vowels, and different vowels", according to the similarity of Chinese and German vowels which were analyzed by vowel pattern methods, to suggest make teaching more effectively. And according to the conclusion of the forth chapter, we advise that teachers and parents should regard age as a matter in the progress of the vowel acquisition of second foreign language. |
