The Laugh In Dostoevsk’s Works

Dostoevsky was one of the great masters in the history of Russian literature, his works focused on researching human, and laugh as one kind of human emotion had special manifestations in his works. This article first introduced the various types of laugh in Dostoevsky’s works, including the well-meaning laugh, malicious laugh and containing complex meaning laugh. Nervous laugh,a malicious smile, continuity of laugh as the typical of Dostoevsky’s laugh. Secondly, through the analysis of three representative figures:Raskolnikov、 Dmitri and Gustavruoqkin’s laugh in Dostoevsky’s works, analyzed how the author use laugh to describe the character psychology and portray the character image. Once again, then extended to the European history of literature in the Renaissance, enlightenment, romanticism and realism period,laugh as the character characteristic showed the spirit of human, reflected the western culture as an organism continuously and it’s decline process.Finally, from the history of literature,founded Dostoevsky’s smile characteristics and innovation in the course of development.
