On The Aesthetic Means Of Laugh In The Theater Of The Absurd

Laugh is a basic way for human to express emotion, and also a basic form to reflect the dramatic aesthetic effection.Theatre of the Absurd appeared a particular historical period in the twentieth century.And laugh has more complex aesthetic means. Usually,most people research the Theatre of the Absurd from the dramatic nature ,the form of comedy,the content of tragedy or the specific works of the anthors .This article selects the point of laugh.By analying the specific works of the Theatre of the Absurd and comparing with the traditional theater, this article interprts the aesthetic means of laugh in the theater of the absurd.This thesis is divided into three chapters:Chapter one ,laugh has ridiculous and horrible means in the Theatre of the Absurd .It is a funny laugh and a weird laugh. Funny laugh is mainly reflected three aspects.It contains the mechanical behavior of the characters, dramatic plot and repeated word. Laugh inherits the funny side of the traditional comedy with a ridiculous aesthetic means. Werid laugh is a gloating of grotesque laugh and a terrorrible of death laugh .The laugh has unique means in the Theatre of Absurd. It exaggerats the elements of ugly,strange,and evil . Because of fear , people obtain a defensive laugh . The laugh has ridiculous means and more terrible means.Chapter two ,laugh is mixed the feelings of grief and joy means in the Theatre of Absurd.Laugh is linked closely with the sense of comedy and spirit of tragedy.Funny means of laugh reflects the a superior sense of comedy. Terrible means of laugh reflects a strong sense of tragedy from people's conception. First, the laugh in the Theatre of the Absurd has the same sarcastic means with the traditional comedy.But it replaces the value of the objection of the traditional comedy.It oppses ration by anti-ration.Laugh also has self-deprecating means .But it regard the whole human as the object .The self-deprecating laugh has metaphysical means. So the Theater of the Absurd is considered as the variation of traditional comedy .Second, the Theatre of the Absurd laugh has a desolatal meaning. Compared with the traditional tragedy, the Theatre of theAbsued no longer has the noble spirit and straighten of the drama program.Most people who say words what they are and do things at a loss are humble and insignificant.They convey the conception that the existence is nothing and life is in vain.It is nothing to do but laugh.And laugh reflects a great sad means. The Theatre of the Absurd proposes the slogan of anti-drama . But it is a paradox that it objects the drama with a form of drama or writes drama with a form of anti-drama. It trys to re-interprete two issues.One is that what is reality and fiction in drama. The other is how to divide the nature of comedy and tragedy.But ultimately they inevitable fall into the paradox cycle and have been ironied from the laugh.Chapter three ,laugh of the Theatre of the Absurd has the means of freedom . Theatre of the Absurd reproduces deeply the true existence on the scene of human.It inteprets the conception of absured with comic form and conveys a sadness means.It means the idea that existence is in vain.This realizition comes from the sort of understanding of nothingness. This recognition reflects the thinking of transcendence.It is nothing reality more than nothingness. Laugh itself has a meaning of liberation.It is a deep understanding laugh.It implies sfreedom , resistance and a metaphysical spiritual reflection and transcendence.Laugh in the Theatre of the Absurd has a complex aesthetic means and a metaphysical means. In my opinion, only human beings can laugh and be laughed .Laugh behalfs of superiorition of people's ideal.
