The adverb is widely used in daily communications. In this paper, we focus on the use of the adverb‘Ye’, which is often misused by the foreign learners. We make full use of the linguistic data from the“HSK Dynamic Composition Corpus”. By using the interlanguage theory and error analysis theory, we make a comprehensive analysis of the misuse of the adverb“Ye”.This paper is composed by six major sections:The first chapter is an introduction. In this part we present the object of the study and the significance of the topic. We expound the source corpus and the label instructions. At the end of this chapter, we give the research methods and the theories which are used in this paper. The second chapter introduces the former research of the adverb“Ye”. The former research includes the relevant ontology research of“Ye”and application in the process of teaching Chinese as a foreign language. In the chapter we also describe the basic meaning of“Ye”. We look up a variety of dictionaries and literatures. By combined these findings with the practical application, we extract the most common meaning of the adverb“Ye”: represent the same or similar. In addition, the adverb“Ye”also has the effect to euphemize or strengthen the mood of the sentence. As it is used in conjunction with a number of associated words to expresses the relationship of transition, concession, condition and progressive, we can regard them as the external meaning of the adverb“Ye”.The third chapter is the main part of this paper. We divide each category into subcategories, using the full and accurate linguistic data to analysis the reasons of the misuses. The study of this chapter gives an objective and detailed description of the reason for the misuse of the adverb“Ye”and it is laid a foundation for the solution to the problem which is proposed in the later part. The fourth chapter analyzes the reason of the misuse of“Ye”. It is mainly because of the negative transfer of mother language, the generalization of the target language rules, the influence of foreign language teaching materials and the misleading of the teachers. The fifth chapter gives the solution to the problem of the misuse of“Ye”by foreign learners.
